I may not love everything about winter, but I do enjoy breaking out my cozy sweaters when winter comes knocking. As my daughter once said when she was five, “It’s like wearing a hug all day.” I try to prepare for the sweater season by keeping an eye on the different types of styles offered for each sweater type.
The pullover is the most traditional of the sweaters. Personally, I prefer V-neck pullovers as they feel the most relaxing. Just having the V-neck helps me feel comfortable so I can wear them all day. I like to wear my pullover V-necks with jeans and over a tee. It’s perfect for those chilly Friday night football games.
I find that cardigans are the most breathable of all my sweaters. So you can imagine my excitement when they started making a comeback a few years ago. I love them for early fall days when the temperature just starts to drop.
For most, the cashmere sweater is the gold standard of sweaters. It’s a very popular sweater because most of the hottest trends can be found in them. I find it’s great for brisk fall days to bitterly cold winter days. It’s cozy, and best of all, very stylish.
When it’s a bitterly cold day, my turtleneck sweater is a must. Through trial and error over the years, I’ve found that my turtleneck sweaters look when they are worn under a suit or jacket. Especially a leather jacket with the front left open.
How can you not love a good Christmas sweater? No piece of clothing screams Christmas morning like that red sweater with snowmen or the green one with the flying reindeer.
